Ready, set, sizzle! Brisbane’s beloved Night Noodle Markets return to South Bank’s cultural forecourt from 24 July to 4 August in 2019 as part of Good Food Month, and we truly can’t wait to get our hands on some of the city’s tastiest cuisine.
Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and every flavour you can think of
There are dishes at the Night Noodle Markets that will make your mouth water just to hear about them, and we’re fairly keen to revisit some of the best dishes from last time as well as exploring exciting new options. You’ll be able to wander between food stalls by: Hoy Pinoy, Chu the Phat, Donburi Station, Teppanyaki Noodles, Shallot Thai, Flying Noodles, Little Kyoto, Bangkok Street Food, Fusion Paella and Tapas, Bao Brothers and so many more. We’re already debating between a visit to Gelato Messina or Black Star Pastry for dessert – at the last markets, Black Star Pastry’s decadent raspberry lychee cake and strawberry watermelon cake were both smash hits. All we’re saying is that it’s best to arrive hungry and with a healthy appetite so you can try it all. Follow up your feast with a walk along the moonlit river, and you’ll be set for a perfect Brisbane experience.
Make a weekend of it with Brisbane city accommodation close by
For the ultimate weekend away in Brisbane, consider booking into Punthill Apartment Hotels in Brisbane’s CBD. At your modern Spring Hill accommodation you’ll have a luxurious king bed, your own balcony, workspace and kitchen. There’s easy secure parking, as well as a gym and pool on site. It really is the ideal base while you’re staying in the city, and it’s an easy walk away from South Bank so you can meander that way for dinner every night if you fancy it. We’d suggest taking the free (and scenic) ferry from North Quay to South Bank Terminal 3 to reach South Bank in the afternoon. Here you can enjoy free entry to Brisbane’s excellent art gallery, QAGOMA, as well as the Queensland Museum – it has fossils and a giant wombat ancestor that has to be seen to be believed! After wandering over to the markets and eating your weight in delicious fare, you might like to venture back across Victoria Bridge at the end of the evening with its beautiful night-time views. And while you’re staying in the area, be sure to spend a morning relaxing in the gorgeous Roma Street parklands close to your accommodation.
