There’s nothing quite as Christmassy as walking along the street, admiring the Christmas lights that people have put up. While we may not have snowy white Christmases in Melbourne, we do put on a good show with some epic and dazzling displays of festivity. What originally started as a few decorations in the front yard have now turned into light-filled spectacles that have visitors coming in from all around the state.
We’ve put together a list of some of the best Christmas displays and decorations around Melbourne, so you can plan your trip with ease.
All throughout the month of December, you can enjoy the festivities at Federation Square in the heart of the city. Gaze up at the impressive 16-metre Christmas tree before taking a stroll through the festive projection art. A giant light-up bauble is the perfect photo opportunity, plus you can listen along to the concerts that are playing every Friday. Kids both big and small can also get a photo with Santa to celebrate the festive season!
