A show about aspiring Broadway dancers, ACL is to X Factor as week-old sandwiches are to foie gras. This is a musical and its famous tunes like ‘I Can Do That’, ‘One’ and ‘At the Ballet’ will certainly be honoured by one of the original cast members Baayork Lee also current director.

One of our favourite events in Melbourne is just 3 days away – The Australian Open Tennis Championships 2011, running from the 17th to the 30th of January 2011.  See the superstars of tennis in the heart of wonderful Melbourne – provided the weather gods stop wreaking havoc.  You can walk to the Melbourne Tennis Centre from Melbourne city centre or South Yarra – so take advantage of the few remaining Punthill rooms!  For those who are a bit more cost conscious why not stay a bit further out of the city at one of our luxurious suburban properties – Essendon, Williamstown, Burwood or Knox.  Check out the official Australian Open website for ticketing.

What is fair and ethical trade? To learn more check out the Fair@Square fair-trade+ethical festival. The annual festival goes from the 11th to the 12th of December from 11am to 6pm, at Federation Square.

Here’s a great exhibition for the whole family.  Until the 27th February 2011, the Arts Centre will be exhibiting  footage, costumes, instruments, lyrics, sets, posters and sounds from some of Australia’s most famous rock chicks. And the best part is it’s FREE and open daily from 11:30am.

Melbournians and visitors to Melbourne alike love the famous Spiegal Tent which pops up every summer outside The Arts Centre on St Kilda Rd.
